With colder temperatures right around the corner, Western Illinois Regional Council Community Services and Public Relations Director Jamie Roth reminds homeowners of their Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program:

“The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance, also known as LIHEAP, that helps people with their home heating bills. If you want to apply, there are several ways you can do that. It is available in Hancock, Henderson, Knox, McDonough, and Warren Counties. You can call our Macomb office at 309-837-2997 or if you are in Knox County you can call 309-837-5115. We can meet with people over the phone entirely, if they have a transportation barrier, we can meet with them in person. We try to make it as flexible as possible.”

Roth informs a brand-new program through the Western Illinois Regional Council has launched to assist with water bills, helping eligible households with avoiding water disconnections or reconnecting their water service.
