IHSA Football AP Rankings after Week 7

Share

The newest AP Poll for IHSA football was released on Wednesday. There was a change at the top of the class 1A and 2A lists. Although Camp Point Central blew out Jacksonville Routt Catholic 46-3 in week 7, apparently that wasn’t enough for the class 1A voters. Stockton leap-frogged the Panthers into the #1 spot. Camp Point drops to #2. TRAC-member Sterling Newman stayed at #5 in class 1A. Annawan/Wethersfield moved up a spot to #8.

It was a little more understanding why Maroa-Forsyth dropped out of the top spot in class 2A. The previously undefeated Trojans fell to (4-3) Olympia in a 50-36 offensive shootout. Maroa falls all the way to #6 in the 2A rankings. Two local schools each moved up a spot, with (7-0) Rockridge taking over at #1, followed by, likewise, undefeated Farmington at #2.

There was more head-scratching in class 3A, the (7-0) Monmouth-Roseville Titans broke into the top-10 at last week. Again, a blowout victory wasn’t enough to hold their spot. All the Titans 57-14 drubbing of the Spring Valley Hall/Putnam County co-op did was drop the Titans out of the rankings to the top team receiving votes this week. Byron is still on top in class 3A.

In class 4A, (6-1) Macomb received two more votes this week and moved up to #13 this week.
