Macomb officials are furthering discussions to bring a career and technical center to the city.  Superintendent Patrick Twomey says that he believes Macomb “will have a career and technical education center,” but the full scale of the development is still pending.  The CTE center is expected to be regionally based for several schools in the area while providing opportunities in auto mechanics, medical studies, and manufacturing.  Twomey says that he and representatives from the Bushnell School and West Prairie School districts, and the Macomb Area Economic Development Corporation, are expected to meet again later this month regarding the topic.  The cost of a CTE facility is still unknown, as officials are considering locating the building north of Macomb High School.
