With the current prices of beef, Monmouth Fareway Meat Manager Mitchell Moose reports customers have been purchasing more chicken and pork, but there could be some relief on beef heading into the holiday season:

“Beef prices have been unfortunately really high. I was reading a report that there is just not a lot of cattle in backstock currently, so that is kind of causing the issue on that end. They were talking it could be a couple of years before we start to see some relief. I have seen though in the last few weeks, just because of the pricing the way it is, people have switched over to getting a little more fresh chicken, some fresh pork, definitely a little easier on the wallet. With that though, it has caused some of the costs to start to come down a little bit. Maybe we will see a little bit of relief for the holiday season.”

On the grocery side, Manager Brandon Flaucher adds more online ordering through the Fareway app has been a rising trend.
