The Monmouth-Roseville Board of Education has approved a tentative December Tax Levy, explains Superintendent Ed Fletcher:

“It is going to be very similar to what we have this year. We balloon levy, so right now I don’t know what the EAV is going to go up in May, but in December I have to say what I think it might go up, so we balloon levy, meaning we levy more, so it looks unordinarily high. We are about 60 percent state funded, about 27 percent local, and the rest is federal. The total budget is about $19 million.”

Additionally, Superintendent Fletcher reports the district has received a $3,500 donation from Monmouth’s Smithfield facility, which will be used to purchase touchscreen Chromebooks for students.
