Second installment of property tax bills in Warren County are due Wednesday, October 15th, reminds Warren County Treasurer and Collector Danielle Cox:
“The second installment is due on October 15th. Right after the second installment due date, we are sending out postcard reminders. I really want to cut down on the delinquent letters that we send out because that costs a taxpayer an additional ten dollars. That is set by the state statute. So, my hopes are to give that friendly reminder; be on the lookout for that. It will be a very light pink colored postcard that will basically say ‘hey, friendly reminder, taxes were due.’ But hopefully it will avoid your taxes going to the tax sale.”
Thus far, Cox reports over $24 million has been distributed throughout Warren County with collected property tax funds. Breaking that down, school districts received over $17 million, cities, villages, and townships received over $4 million, the county government received over $3 million, the fire districts received over $900,000, over $800,000 to the TIF Districts, over $600,000 to the library district, over $254,000 to the park districts, over $15,000 to the sanitary district, $9,000 to drainage, and water and soil $4,000. Additionally, Cox informs that Warren County’s total property tax collections would amount to $40 million.
