In early October, local business owner Travis Pence unfortunately lost his automotive repair shop, Stronghurst Collision and Repair, to a fire. This Sunday, November 2nd, members of the Stronghurst community and surrounding area are hosting a benefit ride to support Travis, reports Jeff Nichols:

“Sunday, in Stronghurst, starting at Laila’s Bar and Grill, we are going to take off for a cruise around noon is when we will leave. It doesn’t have to be a car cruise, doesn’t have to be an old car, it can be anything anybody wants to drive. Registration starts at 11 am. We will travel through different towns and end up back at Laila’s. There will be a taco bar that they are having and donating part of the proceeds to Travis. There is a silent auction going on in the afternoon, people can stop in and bid on that. I believe they will be accepting donations at Laila’s if people are just coming in for a noon meal and want to leave a donation for Travis, that would be fantastic.”

Cost is $20 per vehicle and again will start at Laila’s Bar and Grill in Stronghurst at 11 am and return at 4 pm for the dinner buffet and silent auction.
