Continuing with the same mission of strengthening the region by raising funds to support local organizations and agencies, the United Way of Greater Warren County, now known as the United Way of West Central Illinois, has expanded their service area to support three additional counties, reports Executive Director Jeannie Weber:
“We have expanded our service area to three more counties. We were actually set in Henderson and Mercer Counties last year and this was going to be our first year campaigning there. Then, about February we received a call from Knox County and they expressed interest in a merger. We went through a very long merger process so that we were sure to do due diligence and make sure that everyone was on board and happy. We finally officially merged September 1st and then the week after I unpacked, we started our campaign for four counties instead of one.”
Weber informs the United Way of West Central Illinois office in Downtown Monmouth will remain the main location as it is the center of the four counties now served.
