Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 19th, 2025:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys soccer player, Oscar Amador. Oscar was a large part of the Titan’s regional quarterfinal win over TRAC rival Riverdale. He banged home two goals in a 4-1 victory over the Rams. Oscar was one of the leading goal scorers on the season for the Titans, totaling 7 scores on the season.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is cross country runners, sophomore Max McVey and freshman Rylee Hoefer. Max and Rylee both placed in the top-10 in the Illini West Invitationals with a pair of 9th place finishes. Later in the week, Max finished in the top half of the highly competitive Peoria Heights Invite and Rylee was the top-placing girl for the Red Storm, once again.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is freshman boys cross country runner, Michael Weber. Michael was the top finisher for the Heat at the Illini West Charger Invitational. He nearly ran a personal best in placing 13th. Michael’s best time this season came in his very first high school meet, placing in the top half of the Farmington Invitational standings.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls cross country runner, Grae Boone. Grae has had an outstanding season so far. She placed 21st in the Western Big Six Conference championship meet. Arguably, Grae’s best meet of the season was at the highly competitive Dunlap Invitational, where she posted a career-best time, placing 36th out of 100 total runners.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is freshman volleyball player, Vivian Bigger. A-Town has played some solid volleyball down the stretch and Vivian’s steady play has been a big part of that. She led her squad in assists and digs in a busy, 7-match week. Vivian handed out an average of 12.5 assists and hustled her way to an average of 5.5 digs.
