Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 28th, 2025:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is sophomore volleyball player, Reese Anderson. Reese filled up the stat sheet in a non-conference win over Princeville. She recorded a team-high 9 assists, totaled 4 kills and had one service ace. Earlier in the week in a close loss to Rockridge, Reese had 25 assists and earlier this season she handed out her 500th career assist in only her second season of varsity action.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior football player, Kellen Boone. Kellen’s had a nice season throwing the football but it was his legs that did damage against Stark County. He rushed for 140 yards on the ground, scoring a pair of long touchdown runs. Kellen has been responsible for 9 total touchdowns from the quarterback position so far this year.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore volleyball player, Lilly Higgins. Lilly filled up the stat sheet in wins over Ridgewood and Galva. She smashed a total of 22 kills and hustled her way to a 2-match total of 9 digs. Lilly was also a force at the service line, garnering a total of five aces.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior boys golfer, Aidan Nelson. Aidan had a great week in two of the biggest meets of the regular season. He tied for 5th place at the Western Big Six Conference meet, putting himself on the all-conference 1st team. Aidan then tied for 2nd place at the Silver Streak Invitational.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior volleyball player, Charly Cox. Charly had a big hand, literally, in a non-conference win over Bushnell-Prairie City. She slammed nine kills and hustled her way to four digs. Charly is leading the team in both categories for the season.
