Ben Franklin once quipped, “Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days” and in Prairie Players production of Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman’s The Man Who Came to Dinner, that seems to be the case. While on a speaking tour in Ohio, opinionated and arrogant radio personality, Sheridan Whiteside, injures himself slipping on the ice and becomes an unexpected houseguest for a prominent area family, the Stanleys and chaos ensues.
Director, Anne Carman-Hendel considers this production, “a dream collaboration, with a cast of twenty-three, she has loved working with those in their 20’s through their 70’s. The cast and crew include college age young adults, a new actor at the age of fifty-five, and several PPCT veterans in the mix.”
Those in the cast are: Amy Rutledge as Mrs. Daisy Stanley, Anita Reese as Miss Preen, Charlie Vestal as Richard Stanley, Sienna DeSuza-Bradshaw as June Stanley, Kevin Plumer as John, Estrellita Lugo as Sarah, Rachel Black as Mrs., Dexter and Radio Tech., Judy Taylor as Mrs. McCutheon, John Siebken as Mr. Ernest Stanley, Jill Bradford as Maggie Cutler, Vince Marolla as Dr. Bradley, Ross McIntire as Sheridan Whiteside, Wynne Clark as Harriet Stanley, Vea Vavrosky as Bert Jefferson, Brian Towne as Professor Metz, Joe Robinson as Mr. Baker and Delivery Man, Chris Curtis as Lorraine Sheldon, Gabe Wilfong as Michelson and Sandy, Tim Holmes as Beverly Carlton, Gary Mustain as Banjo, Larry Brady as Police Officer #1 and Kay Boland as Police Officer #2.
Production dates are November 14, 15, 21, 22, 2025 at 7:30 P.M. and November 16 and 23 at 2:00 P.M. at the Prairie Players Theatre 160 S. Seminary Street, Galesburg.
