Every two years, United Way Worldwide provides each county with their ALICE report, which stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, but Employed. United Way of West Central Illinois Executive Director Jeannie Weber breaks down what this gathered data means:

“Households that have one parent or two that are already working full-time cannot meet their basic needs. They don’t have enough money to buy food, to pay all of their rent, to pay the power bills. So, when we look at the four counties that we have, the percentage of those who are working in their households and not able to meet their needs, in Warren County its 37 percent of households, Mercer County 37 percent, Knox County 47 percent, and Henderson County 38 percent. That does not include those that are already in poverty, so you add to that number.”

In other point in time data from the ALICE report for Warren County, in 2023, the median household income was $64,650.
