Starting in February of 2026, the full Warren County Board Meetings will start at 5 pm. Buildings and Grounds Chair Sean Cavanaugh informs the board approved the decision following public comments and a lengthy discussion:
“People had come to speak on that, and they had good points. The meeting time has basically been the same for quite some time, but as it had been pointed out, over the years some people can’t make the meetings because they are working. It was quite a lengthy discussion, everyone of course was very, very polite. We tossed around a couple of times, voted on several, and 5 pm was the time. It was nearly unanimous to change the full County Board Meetings to 5 pm. Then, there was some discussion of the public comments at the very beginning, so if someone is getting off work right at five o’clock, they may miss their chance to be able to comment publicly. But there is no rule that says that has to be at the beginning of the meeting. So, it could be down the line we change public comments to the end or have some at the beginning and some at the end.”
The full Warren County Board Meetings will continue to be held in the Boardroom on the First Floor of the Courthouse, now starting at 5 pm. Individual committees, Road and Bridge, Buildings and Grounds, and Finance will continue to set their own meeting times.
