The Monmouth-Roseville Titans girls basketball team (3-6) has been on a short break since last Thursday, when they fell to a very strong Riverdale squad, 54-23. The time off has allowed the Titans to get back in the gym, clean some things up, and spend time together off the court with team bonding activities.

The Titans will get back into action this weekend at the Erie-Prophetstown Cliff Warkins Girls Basketball Classic. Head Coach Don Luper says he’s looking for a breakout weekend from his group.

Monmouth-Roseville will open tournament play Saturday afternoon against a familiar opponent in the Kewanee Boilermakers (7-4), a team the Titans dropped a 19-point decision to just over a week ago. That game will tip off at 1:00 in Prophetstown’s new gym. The Titans will then turn around three hours later for a matchup with Fulton (6-3), which will be played in the old gym at Prophetstown. Monmouth-Roseville will return to Prophetstown on Monday and Tuesday to wrap up the classic.
