On Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 9:17 AM, the Galesburg Police Department responded to the 1300 block of South Lake Storey Road in reference to a two-vehicle accident involving injuries. Upon arrival, it was determined that the drivers were the sole occupants in both vehicles. One of the drivers was extricated from their vehicle by the Galesburg Fire Department. Both victims were transported to OSF St. Mary Medical Center Emergency Room in Galesburg by ambulance and subsequently life-flighted to OSF St. Francis in Peoria, IL, with severe injuries.
The drivers involved in the collision were identified as Marte Glass, 72 years old, of Galesburg, IL, and Ashley England, 32 years old, of Galesburg, IL. On November 30, 2025, Marte Glass died as a result of her injuries sustained in the crash.
On December 23, 2025, Ashley England was arrested by the Illinois State Police in Peoria, IL, on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for charges of Aggravated DUI, Reckless Homicide, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Controlled Substances. The charges stem from the November 22, 2025 accident. Ashley England is currently being held at the Knox County Jail.
The accident is still pending investigation by the Galesburg Police Department.
