Beyond the tools, machines, and fabrics to bring a creation to life, the Sewing Center by Ron also offers hands-on sewing classes, explains Owner Ron Bishop:
“Typically, we do a project-based class. We have beginner quilting classes where I pick out a pattern that I’ll put out on Facebook, which is where we post most of our classes, people will sign up, they get a list of things they need to bring for the class, and then I give the instruction,” states Bishop.
“We go over tools, especially in the beginner situations, there are lots of new tools they have never used before. If somebody actually wanted to complete a quilt, we would set up a one-on-one class with them. Most classes run at least a day, sometimes it is an ongoing thing where we will schedule every week for two or three weeks,” Bishop adds.
Sewing Center by Ron is located at 243 East Main Street in Downtown Galesburg.
