Sheriff Travis Duffy reports a 911 call received by the Hancock County 911 Center on December 24, 2025, at approximately 10:00 PM has developed into a murder investigation.
The 911 call revealed that a 29-year-old male had been stabbed at a residence in rural Hamilton, IL. The victim was later pronounced dead.
A suspect is in custody currently. GARRETT P. MILLER (34 of Hamilton, IL) is currently held in the Hancock County Jail. Miller has been charged with Second Degree Murder and will be held pending court appearance.
No other information is available at this time as the matter remains under investigation. The victim’s information is withheld pending notification of family. Further information will be released at another date and time.
All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
