The state gave Monmouth Police Department a grant that will improve the safety of the officers while on duty. One of the improvements will be the upgrade to the Taser 10 which is the “Most advanced taser available” according to Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer.
“We were fortunate enough to receive one of the grants from the state and we will be deploying the taser 10 which is the most advanced non-lethal tool that is available out there, and the officers will be carrying those in the next several months”.
The cost of the 6 new tasers will be roughly $22,000 with the extra cost of cartridges and the training the officers have to receive in order to operate the new Taser 10.
