The Monmouth community will come together tonight to honor and remember the life of Mason Giddings. A 2025 United High School graduate, Mason was well known in the community, and his passing last November deeply impacted many.
The Mason Giddings Memorial Wrestling Meet will be held tonight at United High School as a celebration of Mason’s life and the impact he made on those around him. United Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp says the night will bring two communities together for a meaningful cause.
“Two great Schools and great communities come together to try to give a memorial to Mason Giddings. He was a big wrestler and football guy for us, so we’re very happy to honor him in this. We’re going to have a silent auction going, we’re going to have a live auction. Our youth program is going to wrestle a little bit, our junior high is going to wrestle and our high school are all going to wrestle. We just want people to come here and support it, and do whatever they can to help us out. If you want to bring something up to the school and donate you have until 4 o’clock.”
Those interested in donating an item for the auction are asked to call or stop by the United High School main office before 4 p.m. today.
Wrestling will begin at 6 p.m. with the Warren County Thunder Youth Club, followed by United and Monmouth-Roseville junior high, and then high school matches.
Everyone in the community is encouraged to come out tonight to support the Giddings family and take part in an evening of remembrance.
