Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 25th, 2026:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys wrestler, Keegan Smith. Keegan has really gained momentum with the postseason around the corner. He ended the regular season by winning the 175 pound weight class at the Orion Bob Mitton Invitational. Keegan went (3-0), pinning his opponent in the championship match.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Kellen Boone. Kellen averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds a game last week for the Red Storm. He nearly posted double figures in both stat categories in a narrow loss to North Fulton. Kellen had 15 points and 7 rebounds against the Wildcats.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Cooper Gibb. Cooper filled up the stat sheet in a win over ROWVA/Williamsfield. He scored 7 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Cooper was also nearly perfect from the free throw line, making 4 big free throws ouf of 5 total attempts.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior boys wrestlers, Jack Bernardi and Cale Johnson. Jack and Cale, along with previous athlete of the week Anthony Makwala, placed 2nd in the Western Big Six Conference championship meet. All three wrestlers went (2-1) for the tournament. Cale earned his 20th win of the season, with Jack garnering his 17th.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Ayden Stromson. Ayden was a force in the post in a pair of games last week. He averaged 13.5 points and 6 rebounds. He poured in 17 points in an important Lincoln Trail Conference road win at United.
