(Peoria, IL) — The Peoria High School boy’s basketball coach charged with soliciting a child faces new charges involving a second student. Prosecutors say Daniel Ruffin was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, indecent solicitation of a child and grooming for having sexual conduct with an underage student. The victim came forward and reported the incident to police after Ruffin was charged last week in a separate case involving another student. Ruffin is accused of having sexual conduct with a student while he was a coach at Peoria High School, including in his office at the school. The 41-year-old won two state titles while playing at Peoria High School and was also a standout guard at Bradley University. He was placed on unpaid leave last week.
