Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 22nd, 2026:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Lars Bergren. Lar’s finished up the regular season filling up the stat sheet in two Titan wins. He averaged 17.5 points, pulled down an average of 8.5 rebounds and handed out 9 total assists. He nearly posted a double-double of 15 points and 9 rebounds in a road win over Macomb.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Ian Leffler. Ian was on fire for the Red Storm in his final two games of the regular season. He posted 17 points in a win over Princeville in the 5th place game of the Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament and 16 points in a non-conference loss to Mercer County. Ian will fall just short of 1000 points in a fantastic varsity basketball career.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys basketball player, Graham Kelly. Graham put his team on his back in a Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament win over ROWVA/Williamsfield. He nearly posted a double-double of 22 points and nearly 10 rebounds. Graham was 8-for-12 from the free throw line, including 7-for-10 in the second half as the Heat would pull away.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys wrestler, Mason Taylor. Mason qualified for the IHSA state finals in Champaign by taking 4th in the sectional tournament. In his final tournament of his high school career, he went (1-2) in the 175 pound weight class at the state finals. Mason ended the season at an impressive (35-13).

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is freshman girls basketball player, Vivian Bigger. Vivian had a big hand in her team’s regional championship win over Brimfield. She was on fire from the 3-point line, going 4-for-8. Vivian also contributed 4 rebounds and 2 assists in the victory.
