Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 22nd, 2026:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior softball player, Olivia Register. Olivia contributed greatly both in the batter’s box and pitching circle to her team’s season opening win over class 3A Galesburg. She went 2-for-3 with 3 rbis and a triple at the plate. Olivia pitched all seven innings in the victory, giving up only 3 earned runs with 4 strikeouts.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is Chance Stewart. Chance has gotten his season off to a great start, showing a little power in his bat in the process. He went 3-for-4 with 3 rbis at the plate in a win at South Fulton. Chance muscled up with a double and a triple in the game, all while playing a flawless third base on defense.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore baseball player, Colton Spence. Colton had a big hand in the Heat’s season opening 15-0 win over Peoria Heights. He went 2-for-3 with five rbis, hitting a double and blasting his first home run of the season. Colton also pitched three innings in a game against North Boone, giving up only one hit, one earned run, with two strikeouts.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior girls soccer player, Madalyn Lardi. Madalyn was absolutely electric throughout the entire East Peoria Invitational Tournament. She ended the week with nine goals and one assist in her team’s three victories. The Streaks would run the table, winning the tournament with Madalyn scoring nine of Galesburg’s 18 total goals.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior baseball player, Evan Hook. Evan was a monster in the batter’s box and pitching mound in a two-game sweep over Mercer County and West Hancock. Between the two games, he went 3-for-5 at the plate, scoring two runs, driving in two more runs and smashing a double. Evan also pitched 4.2 innings, giving up only three hits with nine strikeouts.
