Here’s your local high school Athletes of the Week for the week ending May 1st:

Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior baseball player, Addison Fletcher. Addison pitched a no-hitter against West Central Conference rival, West Hancock. He went five innings, giving up no runs and struck out seven batters in his five innings of work on the mound. At the plate, he was 4-for-6 in the final two games of the week as well.

Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is Red Storm senior softball player, Marley Lair. Marley had a pair of pitching wins in the past week. She threw a total of 10 innings, giving up only four earned runs, getting nine strikeouts and only walking one batter all week. She also had a pair of rbis and a double at the plate in one of those outings.

Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is freshman softball player, Reagan Spence. Reagan had a fantastic week in the pitching circle and in the batter’s box last week. Pitching-wise, she got a pair of wins while giving up only 3 earned runs in 17 innings with 21 strikeouts. At the plate, Reagan was 8-for-13 with 7 rbis, 3 doubles and a homerun.

Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior track and field athlete, Josh Asher. Josh showed his overall athleticism in a recent performance at the Annawan/Wethersfield Titan Invitational in Kewanee. He had top-five finishes in four seperate events, highlighted by 2nd place finishes in the 100 meter dash and the high jump events.

Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior baseball player, Renegade Schott. Besides a dominant pitching performance over Quincy, in which he pitched a complete game shutout with 11 strikeouts and no walks, Rene also went 8-for-14 for the week. He also contributed to the powerful Silver Streak offense with six rbis.
