The ICS Trojan 7th grade volleyball team will play for a class 1A state title this weekend in Bloomington. The Trojans knocked off Williamsfield in two tight sets, 26-24, 26-24 in the Williamsfield Sectional title match. ICS improved to (23-2) with the win. The Trojans will take on (13-2) Thornton Wolcott at 8:15 on Friday night at Bloomington Junior High School. Wolcott beat (19-0) Cissna Park in a sectional championship last night in Saunemin. The Southeastern Lady Suns 7th grade volleyball team remained undefeated at (25-0) with a win over Lewistown in a class 2A sectional in Mendon. Also moving on to the state finals in class 2A was the Wethersfield Flying Geese. The Geese are now (24-3) after beating Bartonville Monroe at Peoria Heights Grade School. Southeastern will play their quarterfinal match against Carrollton at 4:30 on Friday at Pawnee Junior High. Wethersfield will play the last quarterfinal match at 8:15 against Albion. Sherrard was beaten by Deer Creek-Mackinaw in a class 3A sectional title match in Joy. Sherrard ends the season at (16-2). The Macomb Bomber 7th grade volleyball girls defeated Quincy 25-13, 25-9 and will play for a class 4A state title this weekend. The (23-2) Lady Bombers will play at 5:45 against (20-3) Homewood Hart at Normal Kingsley Junior High on Friday night. the semifinals, 3rd place and championship matches will take place on Saturday.
