Cancer Research to See 50% Reduction in Budget Nationwide

Share

In this unprecedented year and COVID cancelling numerous events, several businesses and organizations have taken a hit on funding. This year alone, the American Cancer Society and Cancer research will see a reduction of 50% nationwide on their budget, reports Warren-Henderson County Senior Community Development Manager Stacey Dutton:

“Cancer never stops. It doesn’t stop for COVID. Our patients and survivors are fighting every day. There are survivors and patients newly diagnosed and wondering how COVID affects them. How does it affect their treatment? It depends where they are at. Some people have had to put their treatments on hold and we don’t want to do that. We need to continue to raise money, we cannot stop. When we are able to get our services back up, our patients are going to need us even more than before. So the American Cancer Society is here to help,” says Dutton.
