The fantastic season for the United Red Storm baseball has come to an end at the hands of the Camp Point Central Panthers. The normally solid Red Storm defense committed four errors and the offense left 11 runners on base in a back-and-forth 10-8 loss to the Panthers.

Camp Point led 4-1 heading to the bottom of the fifth but the United offense woke up, scoring five runs to take a 6-4 lead. Cormaic Flynn had an rbi single and Colin Jenks followed up with a 2-run double for the big hits in the frame.

The Panthers would answer with three runs of their own in the top of the 6th to retake the lead at 7-6. United responded with two runs in the bottom of the 6th to give themselves a 1 run lead at 8-7 heading to the final inning. Camp Point Central rallied for three runs in the top of the 7th to take a 10-8 lead into the final half inning.

United put the tying run at the plate with two outs but a ground out ended the game and season for the Red Storm, who finish with a record of (20-3).

Camp Point will now take on the Havana Ducks in the sectional final tomorrow night. The Ducks knocked off Liberty 9-1 and are (11-4) on the season, Camp Point will take a record of (12-6) into the 1A sectional title game.
