He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie Walker, daughter Tina Walker, sister Patricia Downs and grandson Matthew Walker.

Dick was raised and educated in Roseville. Attended Bradley University, and served in the US Army in the Korean war as a Corporal.  He was a farmer his entire life, and an avid bowler.  Tinkering and working around the farm and church on many projects were his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed researching on family genealogy.

As an active member of Shepard’s Gate Foursquare Church in Macomb.  Dick was installed in 1996 as Deacon at Shepherd’s Gate Foursquare Church and served in this office of ministry faithfully for 25 years. During his time serving he was also nominated and voted onto the church Council. (where he also served for 20 years.) His duties, were so numerous it is hard to describe. He was a true caretaker of the church, fixing anything and everything that ever broke or needed repair.  He really loved the church and knew every screw, nail and bolt in our church and his hand-prints are on everything.  He and Marie (before her passing) also cleaned the church as volunteer janitors, for 14 years. His duties, also included: counting the Sunday offerings and documenting them, keeping weekly attendance, preparing copies of the church bulletin, preparing the visitor packets, supplying and preparing the monthly communion, shopping to buy the church supplies, preparing and organizing supplies for outdoor picnics and events, and being a help to the pastor/wife any way he could. He loved Jesus and every member of church and was always ready to offer a warm smile and hug to anyone. He was truly a faithful Christian and lived his faith as an ambassador for Christ humbly serving in the gifts he was given. His heart, his dedication, and support will be truly missed.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 10:00 am at Wise Family Funeral Home in Roseville.  Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the Service.  In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shepard’s Gate Foursquare Church, Illinois Cancer Center Galesburg or the Roseville Ambulance Service.
