Jeffrey Philip Ray, age 51 of Naperville, passed away suddenly, Thursday, March 17, 2022. He was born January 26, 1971 in Monmouth, IL to his loving parents, W. Donald and the late Harriet A. Ray of Monmouth. Cherished husband of Carrie F. Ray, nee Fischer, married on December 28, 2007. Beloved father of Ben Kuefler and Emma Ray. Brother of Doug (Sue) Ray of Princeton, IL, Mark (Abbie) Ray of Carthage, IL, and the late Karen Ray. Uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Son-in-law of Rod and Mary Jacobs of the Villages, FL and brother-in-law of Lindy (Derek) Crouch of Maineville, OH.

Jeff was a 1989 graduate of Warren High School. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Illinois, class of 1993 and a Master’s Degree from Purdue University. Jeff spent his entire career in agricultural finance, first working for Prudential Insurance and currently for Compeer Financial, as a credit officer. Jeff enjoyed working on his family farm and cherished the time he spent with his family. Jeff loved and was so proud of his children Ben and Emma. They were his pride and joy. Jeff had a passion for helping people through his church and various community organizations. Jeff was especially heartbroken with what is happening in Ukraine as he spent 2 years living and volunteering there. Everyone who met Jeff instantly saw what a kind, loving soul he was.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the Jeff Ray Memorial Fund for the continuing support of his legacy. Funds can be given by the provided link or by check payable to ‘Jeff Ray Memorial Fund’ deposited directly to Naperville Bank at 5 S. Washington Street, Naperville, IL 60540.

Visitation: Thursday, March 24th 5:00-8:00 PM at Community United Methodist Church, 20 N. Center Street, Naperville, IL 60540.

Additional Visitation: Friday, March 25th 10:00-11:00 AM at Community United Methodist Church with a celebration of life to follow at 11:00 AM. The service will be live streamed, and the public is invited to watch the service at Fairview Center United Methodist Church, 1495 – 90th St., Monmouth, Illinois. Private interment to follow at Naperville Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
