The Annual Halfway to Freezing for Food at Save A Lot Food Store in Monmouth, benefitting the Jamieson Community Center Food Pantry and Roseville Helping Hands Food Pantry, will take place Tuesday June 21st through Thursday June 23rd from 10 am to 2 pm each day. With inflation costs rising, JCC Executive Director Nancy Mowen shares an increase of families utilizing the food pantry has been seen and anticipates more with school being out:
“This year we have been seeing an increase as inflation has continued to increase. It is really straining families’ budgets and so we have seen an increase in people coming to the pantry. I am glad they do. We have food for them. That can help stretch dollars and no one should go without food. We really want to make sure that everyone in our community has access to healthy nutritious food.”
The Annual Halfway to Freezing for Food will be broadcast on Sunny 97.7 WMOI and AM 1330/FM 94.1 WRAM Tuesday June 21st through Thursday the 23rd from 10 am to 2 pm each day.
