Mrs. Diana Kay Riley, 84, of Galesburg passed away unexpectedly at 10:10 pm Sunday, July 10, 2022.

Diana was born January 31, 1938, in Galesburg the daughter of Glen and Helen (Youngren) Ecklund. She married James Riley on April 4, 1959, in Galesburg.

Diana is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Jim; her children, Rodney (Brenda) Riley and Debra Riley both of Bloomington, Illinois and Rhonda (Leon) Jensen of Munden, Kansas; her two sisters, Sandra (Ted) Caiazza of Venice, Florida and Karen (the late Ted) Glas of Lake Park, Florida; four grandchildren, Brian Riley, Elizabeth (Erwin) Davis, Lora (Tim) Eastman and Logan (Townya) Roberts and three great grandchildren, Evan Riley, Kennedi and Zeke Roberts. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Diana graduated from Galesburg High School in 1955 and Western Illinois University in 1959, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. Diana taught home economics at the Woodhull High school and junior high school for two years.

Diana had a love for gardening which led her to becoming a Master Gardener. She continued this love while working for Ralston-Hanna Garden Center for over twenty years.

Diana was a faithful active member of First Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday School and served with the Deborah Circle. She enjoyed sewing and offered her talent to the Piecemakers Sewing Circle. Diana also served the church with her role on the Kitchen Service Committee.

Visitation will be from 10:00-Noon, Friday, July 15, 2022, at First Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will follow at the church at Noon with Rev. Dr. Pamela Marolla officiating. Cremation will be accorded following services. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or the National Kidney Foundation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
