Margaret Louise “Peggy” Knosher, 86, of Galesburg, died at 2:28 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022, at home.

She was born October 26, 1935, in Eagleton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Raymond and Sarah Meyer.  She married Harlan Knosher on December 24, 1956.

She is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Harlan; two daughters, Kathryn (Rich) Harden of Champaign and Laura Knosher of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Harden of Granger, Indiana, Colleen (Hamed) Aziz of Savoy, Chad Thompson of Galesburg, and Eric Thompson of Galesburg; four great grandsons; and a brother, Bill Meyer of Alexis.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Don Meyer.

She was a graduate of Naperville High School in 1953 and completed her Registered Nurses Training at Copley Hospital in Aurora in 1956.  She worked as a nurse in various doctor’s offices until the birth of her first daughter when she elected to become a stay-at-home mom.  When her daughters were grown, she joined David Robinson in opening The Frameworks in downtown Galesburg in the late 1980’s.  She was very proud that the business under several owners has thrived right up to the present day.

The focus of her life right up to her passing was a total dedication to her family and friends.  Her greatest joy came from the accomplishments of those she loved and she was a strong source of support and encouragement for each of them throughout her life.  She also took genuine enjoyment from reading, gardening, and sewing.

Her wish was to be cremated and ultimately have her ashes mixed with her husband’s and spread together.  A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Western Illinois Home Health Care and OSF Hospice for all the extraordinary work they did to make the last part of her life the best it could possibly be.  Those individuals will never be forgotten.

Memorial contributions may be made to Knox College in her memory.

Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.  Online condolences may be made on the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
