It’s officially scholarship season at the Warren Henderson Farm Bureau for those entering or attending college Warren Henderson Farm Bureau manager Ashlyn Quinn shares what the Farm Bureau Foundation looks for in scholarship recipients.
“We do like it if you have an agriculture major or minor. As far as the foundation goes, we’re going to be looking at things like character, and extracurriculars. I wouldn’t say grades are as heavy for us as some scholarships are, but still important. We want to make sure that you’re going to stick college out and finish it for us, and really, we just want good kids,” says Quinn. “Someone who’s coming back to the area is always nice to see, especially if we’re getting a nurse or that someone who’s coming back, and can bring a lot back to the counties. That’s always a nice little perk on an application. But really, we just want well-rounded, good kids applying for the scholarship.”
Applications are due by February 29 and can be found by visiting whfarmbureau.org.
