Corn Husking Lecture at the Warren County History Museum

September 11 @ 7:00 pm

Dick Humes, the president of the Illinois Corn Husking Association, will talk about the corn husking competitions, which were a big deal in the 1920s and ’30s. A good husker could pick over 100 bushels of corn a day. Today, a combine can harvest 2,000 bushels an hour! The lecture will be presented at the Warren County History Museum, 238 South Sunny Lane in Monmouth. Admission is free and it is open to the entire public.
