Free COVID-19 Testing Offered to Residents of Henderson and Warren Counties

February 26, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Monmouth College will offer free COVID-19 testing for residents of Henderson and Warren counties. Testing will be from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays on the ground floor of the Haldeman-Thiessen Science Building.

Monmouth College has contracted with the SHIELD Illinois program through the University of Illinois, which uses saliva samples to test for COVID-19. The highly accurate test yields results within 24-48 hours via email and a secure website.

The free COVID-19 testing is made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Community Health Foundation of Warren and Henderson Counties.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and must fast for 60 minutes before being tested. The fast includes food, water, chewing gum, breath mints, tobacco products or anything else taken orally. The test will not be valid if a 60-minute fast is not observed.

Participants must provide a valid phone number and email address for results. By submitting a saliva sample, participants consent to the collection, analysis and storage of their saliva specimen, and collection, storage and use of their personally identifiable health information by Monmouth College.

Participants also acknowledge that SHIELD Illinois will report test results as required by law and will report test results to Monmouth College. Participants are solely responsible for the accuracy of all information they submit.

To access the Haldeman-Thiessen Science Building, turn into the Monmouth campus on the East Clinton Avenue entrance off Sixth Street. Public parking is north of the Haldeman-Thiessen Science Building. The entrance to the testing center is through the building’s east door (facing Hewes Library).
