SUMMARY:Strom Center Ice Cream Social
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, July 10th is the date set for the Strom’s Annual Ice Cream Social. Serving will be from 5-7 PM. Ther entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Monmouth Municipal Band which begin playing at 7 PM. The Social will be held inside. \nTickets for Ice Cream\, Homemade Cake\, or Homemade Pie and drink are only $3.50 and $2.50 for children age 12 or under. There will also be a 50/50 drawing: $1 per ticket or 6 for $5. You do not need to be present for the drawing at the end of the evening. This even should provide a wonderfully enjoyable evening for all who attend. \nDonations of home-made pies and cakes are greatly appreciated… please let the Strom Center know if you will be brining either by calling (309)734-5677. DESCRIPTION:Join in the Celebration and Honor of the 200th Anniversary of Warren County and the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolutionary War. Illinois is one of 14 states that have a county named after Joseph Warren\, a Founding Father of the United States. He was a Boston doctor and patriot\, who died at the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775. He enlisted Paul Revere for his “midnight ride” to spread the alarm that the British were marching to Lexington and Concord to make arrests and destroy or capture military supplies. Please join on Thursday\, July 10\, at 7 p.m. at the Warren County History Museum\, as Pattee Executive Director Dr. Eugene Watkins tells more about this important American hero. This event is free and open to the public.
