SUMMARY:The Creation of Warren County and The Man Behind the Name
DESCRIPTION:Join in the Celebration and Honor of the 200th Anniversary of Warren County and the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolutionary War. Illinois is one of 14 states that have a county named after Joseph Warren\, a Founding Father of the United States. He was a Boston doctor and patriot\, who died at the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775. He enlisted Paul Revere for his “midnight ride” to spread the alarm that the British were marching to Lexington and Concord to make arrests and destroy or capture military supplies. Please join on Thursday\, July 10\, at 7 p.m. at the Warren County History Museum\, as Pattee Executive Director Dr. Eugene Watkins tells more about this important American hero. This event is free and open to the public.
