SUMMARY:CALL TO ARTISTS!
DESCRIPTION:64 ARTS National Juried Exhibition is celebrating its 12th year. This national juried exhibition showcases quality artwork from artists across the United States and promotes the importance of the arts in the Warren County community and surrounding region. All entries are submitted digitally through www.callforentry.org (CaFÉ). \nJuror: Samantha Grassi is an exhibition designer\, artist\, and culture-consumer originally from New York. Grassi currently designs exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago. She creates architectural spaces and unique displays that tell stories\, communicate ideas\, and — most importantly — highlight art. \nWith a formal background in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art\, Grassi’s design practice is rooted in the artistic process. Her work brings together her love for art history\, material culture\, creativity\, and collaboration. \nPrior to joining the Art Institute\, Grassi designed exhibitions at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This experience solidified a life-long passion for museums as spaces for cultural and artistic exchange. This passion touches all of Grassi’s current professional and personal projects. \nMost recent projects include: Andy Warhol: From A to B and Back Again\, PHOTOGRAPHY + FOLK ART: Looking for America in the 1930s and Gregg Bordowitz: I Wanna Be Well. \nIMPORTANT DATES:\nDeadline for Entry: June 1\nNotification via Email: July 1\nDelivery of Works: By August 1\nExhibition Dates: August 25-October 9

SUMMARY:Re-imagine the Arts Live Music on the Plaza Saturday\, June 13
DESCRIPTION:During the summer months\, the Buchanan Center will host a series of artists\, musicians\, and singers who will perform on the Pattee Plaza or in front of the BCA building on the public Square. Artists will be on site during the days the BCA is open. This is part of our effort to reimagine the arts – together while apart. \nEach week — times will vary like a “pop-up” museum — the Buchanan Center will bring new and different forms of art to you. \nWe kick off the summer series with live music on the Plaza Saturday\, June 13. Singer and guitarist King Neptune performs the up-tempo Piedmont blues of Blind Boy Fuller and Blind Blake\, as well as original arrangements of songs by Bessie Smith. Focusing on the music of the 1920s and 30s\, he is an accomplished musician and storyteller\, performing acoustic pre-war blues for over 20 years.\n#ArtKeepsGoing\n#ArtsForAll
