Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer gave an update on recent crimes in the city of Monmouth. The string of car burglaries and even stolen vehicles is still trending in the area. Switzer wants people to not leave valuable items exposed inside their cars. He also urges citizens to lock their cars at all times to prevent these incidents from occurring.
“We only have so many officers that can be in so many places at the same time. If someone sees something like that, please call the police department and we’ll get somebody out there and see what they’re doing,” he said.
Switzer also touched on a recent stabbing in the area. Due to the case still being under investigation, he couldn’t give much detail on the incident. The perpetrator was apprehended, and the victim did survive the incident and was released from the hospital a few days ago.
Switzer once again encourages anyone with information about a crime to contact Warren County Crimestoppers. Their number is 309-734-9363.
