Local High School and Junior High Sports Update for Oct. 20th, 2017

Volleyball

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan volleyball team wrapped up an outright West Central Conference North Division championship with a 25-12, 25-17 road win over the Camp Point Central Panthers last night. The Titans ended the regular season with a (7-1) division record and a (27-8) overall record. The Titans were led by Carly Gillen’ ten kills, Camryn Jones nine digs, Delaney Woodard’s 11 assists and Mackenzie Connell’s eight service points. Monmouth-Roseville will host a Class 3A Regional next week at Monmouth-Roseville High School, starting with a Monday night matchup with Macomb at 6:00.

Elsewhere in local volleyball, the Prairieland Conference ended their league schedule with Farmington beating A-Town, 25-14, 25-19. Payton Florine led A-Town with seven kills. Courtney Moore led in blocks with two and assisits with 13. Charlie Johnson totaled 12 digs. A-Town will go into the postseason with a record of (10-19).

Havana defeated Elmwood in three sets and it was Brimfield over Bushnell-Prairie City.

Junior High

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams traveled to Galesburg to take on the Churchill Blue Streaks in a pair of games. The Titan 7th grade dropped a 32-27 decision in the opener. Lexi Finnicum and Chevelle Wolf lead the team with 7 points. Parker Cash led Churchill with 11 points. The Blue Streaks improved to 12-5. The Monmouth-Roseville 8th grade fell to Churchil 39-25. Leading the way for the Titans was Cristina Dilley with 9 points Jayda Brown-Dodd with 6. Abbi Sammons led Churchill with 10 points. The Blue Streaks have improved to 13-4.
