YMCA Hosting Halloween Pet Palooza

The 1st Annual Halloween Pet Palooza will take place this Saturday at the Warren County YMCA. The Guardian Angels Humane Society of Galesburg is in charge of the event, which will go from 9-11 a.m. Saturday morning. Cathy White, President of the Humane Society, previewed the event:

“It’s a Halloween party for pets and their owners – a costume party if you’d like for it to be. You can bring your pet all dressed up, and if you want, you can dress up like your pet. There will be all sorts of costume contests, and to top it off, Shyvel, who I think almost everybody in the Midwest knows about Shyvel’s beautiful photography, she will be there to capture the moment with a special Halloween pet picture,” White said.

Registration for the event is $20. All proceeds will go to the Guardian Angels Humane Society to help homeless and needy pets.

Prizes will be awarded for three different costume categories: Originality, Most Unusual, and Best Costume for Pair (Pet & Owner). For more information, call the YMCA at 734-3183.
