Baseball
The United Red Storm baseball team traveled to the artificial turf of Lenz Field in Jacksonville for a non-conference matchup with Louisiana, Missouri. The Red Storm jumped all over their opponents from across the river early, taking advantage of several Louisiana errors and base on balls. The Storm pushed across 4 runs in the first inning, six in the second and nine tallies in the 3rd frame to get all the runs they would need for a 19-0, 5-inning mercy-rule victory. Five United batters had two hits in the game, including Drew Brown, Ethan Chenault, Avery Lefler, Dylan Cheline and Zac Frieden. Chenault had six rbis in the game.
The A-Town Tornadoes and Knoxville Blue Bullets were tied at 3-3 heading to extra innings last night in Knoxville. The Tornadoes would score three runs in the top of the 8th to get a 6-4 win over the Blue Bullets. Nick Inness’ 2-rbi double proved to be the winning hit as Knoxville tried to rally in the bottom of the 8th, scoring a solo run. Dylan Klockega led the A-Town offense, going 3-for-4 with three rbis. Cade Shonkwiler and Colton Ericson each had two hits for Knoxville. Ericson’s two hits including a triple and a home run.
The Galesburg Silver Streak sophomore baseball team bounced back from 2 straight defeats with a victory over Pekin, 6-3. Noah Matheny earned the win by pitching 4 innings, giving up one run. He struck out 5 and limited Pekin to 2 hits. Mitchel Sampson threw 2 scoreless innings of relief and struck out 4 batters. At the plate Matheny was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Nikki Deligiannis was 1/3 with 2 RBIs. As a team, Galesburg stole 9 bases, with Adam Stewart leading the way with 3.
Softball
The United Red Storm dropped a pair of Lincoln Trail Conference games on the road at Princeville. The Storm lost game one 9-5. Alyssa Beltran homered and had three hits for United in the opener. Game two wasn’t as close as the Red Storm lost 11-1 and were held to two hits by the Princeville pitching staff.
The A-Town Lady Tornadoes beat South Fulton 12-2 in five innings in a Prairieland Conference game in Abingdon. Kayleigh Sebben led the A-Town offense, going 3-for-4 and scoring three runs. Tori Adolphson got the pitching win, going all five innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits, while striking out 10 batters.
The Knoxville Blue Bullets fell to Elmwood/Brimfield 9-1 in another Prairieland matchup. Paige Collopy had one of the three Knoxville hits. She hit a solo homer for the Blue Bullets lone tally.

The Galesburg Silver Streak girls soccer team fell to Quincy 13-0
Tennis
In Western Big Six Conference play and the Silver Streak boy’s tennis team lost to Dixon 5-1. The #2 doubles team of Lorenzo Sanchez and Christopher Pamatmat were the lone victors for Galesburg.
