Softball

The United Red Stom get two impressive wins over Galva. The Storm outscore the Wildcats 37-4 between the two games. In an 18-3 win in game one, Claire Oetting went 2-for-3 with four rbis. Alyssa Beltran was 3-for-4 and Riley Tyrrell got the pitching win. United pounded out 14 more hits in a 19-1 game two victory, led by Oetting and Jordan Lantz with three rbis apiece. This time Marley Lair and Kaylan Sperry teamed up for the win in the circle for the Red Storm.

West Central also got a pair of blowout wins over Stark County. The Heat won their games by a total of 38-10, winning 15-6 and 23-4. Mady Reed was 4-for-6 with two rbis in the opener. Reagan Spence got the pitching win. In the nightcap, Megan McIntire drove in eight runs to lead the way in that one.

The A-Town Tornadoes were beaten by Rushville/Industry 10-0 and the Knoxville Blue Bullets went (0-3) over the weekend in the West Carroll Thunder Softball Invitational.

The Galesburg Silver Streak softball team lost a pair of Western Big Six Conference games against United Township in Galesburg. The Streaks dropped game one 12-6, despite Bailee Hamilton’s two home runs. Andrea Sampson also went deep for Galeburg. The Panthers get game two, 8-5. Lauren Campbell homered and went 3-for-4 for Galesburg.

Baseball

The Galesburg Silver Streaks swept the United Township Panthers in East Moline. The Silver Streak pitching staff combined for two shutouts, winning game one 10-0 and game two 5-0. Renegade Schott gave up only two hits in game one to get the win. He also struck out nine hitters. Tyler Steck was 4-for-5 for Galesburg. Nick Fields and Connor Aten each had three hits as well. Fields took his turn on the mound in game two and was even a little better than Schott. Fields only gave up one hit to UT with four strikeouts and one walk. Schott helped out at the plate in game two, going 2-for-4 with two rbis and a triple.

The United Red Storm split a pair of games at home against Galva on Senior Day. The Storm get game one 9-3. Avery Lefler was 2-for-4 with four rbis. Lefler also gets the pitching win, going the first five innings, giving up only three hits and no earned runs and getting 8 strikeouts. Adam Johnson went 3-for-4 in a 7-5 loss in game two.

The West Central Heat lost both ends of a double header at Stark County. The Heat lost game one 13-1 but come back in game two to only lose 12-11. Dallas Cramer went 3-for-4 with two rbis and scored three runs.

The A-Town Tornadoes ran their winning streak to 11 games with a 3-1 Prairieland Conference win over Elmwood/Brimfield, despite only getting four total hits. Nathan Wright was fantastic on the mound, going all 7 innings, giving up four hits himself. He struck out 7 and didn’t walk a batter.

The Knoxville Blue Bullets lose a Prairieland matchup to a very good Rushville/Industry ballclub 16-1.

Tennis

The Galesburg Silver Streak boys tennis team took 5th place in the Silver Streak Invitational on Saturday. Cade Petrie was the top-finishing Streak, getting a 2nd place finish in #2 singles.
