A new Junior Miss Warren County was crowned this past Saturday in Roseville; Malia Killey, a 13-year old from Roseville, earned the distinction among 14 total contestants in the category. Malia will start her 8th grade year at Immaculate Conception School in August, and is the daughter of Sherry and Steve Killey.
Malia explained her favorite part of the pageant process:
“I really enjoyed meeting the new girls. I knew a lot of them just from sports and everything, but getting to know them, actually talking to them at practices and everything, that was my favorite. I really do enjoy dressing up and being in a gown and everything,” Killey said.
Killey is most looking forward to the Demolition Derby at the Warren County Fair on Friday night, but there are events and activities for everybody according to Pageant Director DeNeene Killey:
“One of the things that we are doing for the first time is a vendor fair on Saturday night from 6 to 8 o’clock. We will be in the southeast pavilion, and we have 16 different vendors coming in,” Killey said.
On top of the vendor fair, the Fair will have a number of giveaways going on throughout the week, punctuated by ticket giveaways for both Luke Combs at the State Fair and a Cardinals-Cubs matchup later this summer.
Aubrey Killey collected the 1st Runner-up spot in the Junior Miss contest. Mariah Reading and Emrick Huston finished as 2nd and 3rd Runner-ups respectively.
