VOICE Program Set for Summer Play

Share

The VOICE program offers before and after school programming for students in the Monmouth-Roseville and United school districts. The program helps support two plays during the spring and summer. The summer edition for 2018 will have showings this Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Monmouth-Roseville High School Auditorium. Incoming M-R freshman Kendall Ferry explains the storyline for the play:

“It’s about a girl named Edwina who runs a little show in her garage with the kids in her neighborhood, and people send her letters, and she gives them advice,” Ferry said.

Around 20 students make up the cast for the performance. The VOICE program is in its final year of a five-year grant, which has allowed students this opportunity to take part in the performing arts.

Prior to the public showing of the play, a private family showing will be held tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. The VOICE program will provide a meal for the families and performers.
