“Just a weeks away is one of the many big events we have Downtown,” Downtown Development Director Kristin Terry said. “We have been working extra hard to make sure that Moon Over Macomb is successful,” Terry added. Moon Over Macomb will be held October 20th in Historic Downtown Macomb.
On Saturday, October 20th activities include the Farmers Market, a costume parade for kids and pets, pumpkin pie in a bag activity, homemade slime, Haunted Museum, decorate your own pumpkin activity, tattoos & body stenciling, barnyard petting zoo, make your own trick or treat bag, hair color station, scavenger hunt, and don’t forget the horse drawn trolley rides and much more.
Watch some of your favorite Halloween books come to life, as Western Illinois University Theatre students bring you Page to Stage mini-plays. Each mini-play will feature a cast of actors playing out a storybook, as the narrator reads. Perfect for children of all ages- high energy and interactive. Come for just one story, or stay for them all!
Squeeze to please, owner Julie Hood, will be downtown cooking sliced caramel apples with your own toppings, hot cider, coffee, and more. Visit Downtown Macomb Facebook page for more details on this great event.
“We have been working extra hard to ensure this year’s Moon Over Macomb is fabulous,” Terry stated. She emphasized the importance of working closely with WIU Recreation Park and Tourism Administration Professor Jeremy Robinett. “Thank you to WIU College of Fine Arts and Communication, McDonough County Farm Bureau, Citizens Bank, and the Performing Arts Society for being part of Moon Over Macomb, “ stated Terry .
