Here’s the WMOI/WRAM/WAIK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct 21st, 2018:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Jamonny Skinner. Jamonny saved his best game of the season so far for the regular season finale against Kewanee. He caught five passes for 125 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, Jamonny picked off two passes and returned one of those for a touchdown as well.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior cross country runner, Anne Gregory. Anne placed 15th out of 74 total runners at the Macomb Regional at Spring Lake Park, finishing with a time of 20:43.2. That qualified her for the Elmwood Sectional. Earlier this season, Anne crossed the finish line in 5th place at the Lincoln Trail Conference championship meet.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Luke Ditsworth. Luke capped off his high school football career with a great game in the season finale against United. He rushed for 287 yards on just 11 carries. Luke also scored five touchdowns in the Heat’s win over the Red Storm. For the season, he ran for over 1,000 yards and got in the endzone 15 total times.

The A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Josh Asher. Josh caught six passes for 189 yards and four touchdowns in his team’s Prairieland Conference win over the Peoria Heights/Quest co-op. He has been a reliable receiver all season long for the Tornadoes.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior volleyball player, Kylie Fike. Kylie had a great week at the net last week. She led the Streaks in kills for the week, smashing 20 total kills in her team’s 3 matches, two of those being wins. Kylie also had five blocked shots during the week as well. She led the Silver Streaks in both of those categories for the season.
