Here’s the WMOI/WRAM/WAIK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 11th, 2018:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is freshman swimmer, Abby Sikorski. Abby ended her first season as a high school swimmer with a nice finish at the Rock Island High School sectional meet against schools ranging from Class 1A to 4A. She touched the wall in 12th place in the 100 yard butterfly race.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior volleyball player, Jerzi Johnson. Jerzi’s play on the court this entire season earned her a spot on the Lincoln Trail -All Conference’s 1st team. More importantly, her performance in the classroom also got her named to the LTC’s All-Academic list as well.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior volleyball player, Emily Johnson. Emily ended her final season of high school volleyball with top-10 finishes in 3 team stat categories. She was 3rd for the Heat in blocks, 5th in kills and 8th in digs.

The A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys bowler, Dalton Gabbert. Dalton got his season off to a great start with his performance at the Lee Lohman Memorial Invitational in Geneseo. He rolled a tournament-best 6-game series of 1335, including a single game-high of 279, both school records. He was named the Outstanding Bowler of the tourney.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week, presented by Toyota, is senior football player, James Hayden. James’ outstanding ability to punt the football impressed opposing coaches enough that it got him named to the Western Big Six All-Conference first team. He was an Honorable Mention team member at the same position in his freshman and junior seasons as well.
