Here’s the WMOI/WRAM/WAIK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct 28th, 2018:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Rylan Heinrich. Rylan made big plays on both sides of the ball during his team’s win over Wilmington. He made an important 22 yard catch on 4th down on offense then late in the game, on another 4th down play, Rylan made a big tackle on defense to help give the Titans the victory.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior volleyball player, Breanna Shea. Breanna did all she could to get her team a victory over Bureau Valley in the Mercer County Class 2A regionals in Aledo. She hustled her way to 22 digs in the match, topping all players. Breanna was leader in that stat category for Red Storm in most matches this season.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore volleyball player, Sadie Lenz. Sadie led the Heat in assists in both regional matches last week. She totaled 25 assists in wins over North Fulton and Illini West. 15 of those helpers came in a 3-set thriller against North Fulton.

The A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is sophomore cross country runner, Natalie Kern. Natalie qualified for the Class 1A Sectional meet with a fantastic finish at the Macomb regional. She placed 21st at Spring Lake Park in Macomb. Earlier in the season, Natalie placed 14th at the Prairieland Conference meet in Farmington.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week, presented by Toyota, is junior girls swimmer, Hailey Glasnovich. Hailey earned three medals at the Western Big Six Conference meet at United Township High School. She touched the wall first in two individual events, the 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke events. Hailey was also a part of the conference champion 200 yard freestyle relay team.
