This past weekend, the Western Illinois Animal Rescue (WIAR) held a grand opening at their new permanent location, 300 West Harlem Avenue in Monmouth.

WIAR, which has been in operation for 18 years, is a registered nonprofit organization and a no kill organization. The rescue has been fundraising for the past four years to be able to build this new facility to provide the best care available to animals in need for the Warren County area.
